BARNARD CASTLE METHODIST CHURCHMISSION STATEMENT 'Knowing Jesus and making Jesus known'
.Our churches - and coronavirus (COVID-19): Hello folks Along with other denominations, the Methodist Church has, reluctantly, taken the decision to suspend all worship services. That means our churches in Barnard Castle, Cotherstone, Middleton-in-Teesdale and Staindrop will not be holding their usual Sunday services for the time being. But that doesn’t mean we have stopped being ‘the church’ or wanting to serve our communities in whatever way we can, within the current restrictions on movement and congregating. So if you have any worries or concerns where you feel prayer would help please post your request here .............................Prayer call........................... You don’t have to identify yourself if you don’t want to (but it would be nice if we had at least a first name to focus on) and your prayer will be passed to our prayer team who will offer it to God for you. And if you are alone and have limited access to help and support, please use the prayer link to let us know that you need help and we will do our best to pass the message on to the appropriate agency. We live in uncertain and, for some, anxious times, but we have a God who loves us, a Saviour who is with us and a Spirit who inspires us - and we are a people of hope. Let’s all take Paul’s advice to Timothy: “Be not fearful!” Be safe, stay well, God bless.

In response to ourMission Focus for 2020 - Christian Discipleship . We are using Holy Habits: an adventure in Christian discipleship based upon Luke’s picture of the early church in Acts 2:42-47. It explores and encourages the practice of ten disciplines, or holy habits: biblical teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, prayer, sharing resources, serving, eating together, gladness and generosity, worship and making more disciples.
