BARNARD CASTLE METHODIST CHURCHMISSION STATEMENT 'Knowing Jesus and making Jesus known'
Unfortunately, it has been decided to close for the five Sundays of January
As you are aware, the Government allocation of the new Tier 4 rating has now come in for our area. This rating does allow for Churches to remain open, however, after much prayerful deliberation and with a degree of disappointment, we have decided to close for Sunday Worship through January.
The Leadership Team of the Church met to prayerfully discuss the positive and negative aspects of meeting together in the Church building for worship. Sadly, with this more contagious variant of the virus and the fact that we are so close to many of our congregation being vaccinated, it was considered wise to close for the five Sundays of January to lower risk for people. This decision will be reassessed at the end of January and the Church building may open for Private Prayer to begin with.
In the meantime, the Circuit Video Services are available on the Darlington Circuit YouTube Page, simply search YouTube for: “Darlington Methodist Circuit” for an act of worship each Sunday. There is also a paper resource from the Circuit for people without access to digital media.
These are such challenging times both mentally and physically, but spiritually we have a Hope that is steadfast and certain, the Hope incarnate in Jesus. In these short days and long nights we are reminded that the Light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.
Service Sheets, Live-streamed services and prayers andRoots resources
If you know of anyone who does not use a computer, then the service on Radio 4 on a Sunday morning (0810) offers Sunday Worship
In response to ourMission Focus for 2020 - Christian Discipleship . We are using Holy Habits: an adventure in Christian discipleship based upon Luke’s picture of the early church in Acts 2:42-47. It explores and encourages the practice of ten disciplines, or holy habits: biblical teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, prayer, sharing resources, serving, eating together, gladness and generosity, worship and making more disciples.
