The Teesdale Branch of Chernobyl Children’s Project (UK) was formed in 1998 by our Circuit Social Responsibility Group, aiming to bring, each year, young cancer victims ( aged 4-7 years), with their mothers and an interpreter, from Belarus to homes in Teesdale for a recuperation holiday which would boost their immune systems substantially. This developed as we hoped into a community effort with fundraisers, planners and hosts working together successfully to provide these holidays (usually 4, 5 or 6 children).
An interesting programme of activities, outings, picnic lunches etc. is provided throughout. The children are in remission from various cancers and are able to enjoy all the usual activities of their age group. Thank you for all your continuing support of this work.
