Lent Lunches at Home 2021
In the recent past the Churches in Teesdale have offered Friday soup lunches to raise funds to support the work of Christian Aid.
This year we can’t meet to serve food in this way, but we know that the people we have supported through Christian aid in Africa and Asia are in need just as much as ever.
So this year we invite you to enjoy your Friday soup at home and join us in making a donation to Christian Aid. Donations to Christian Aid can be made online via the dedicated Christian Aid page:
Donations can also be phoned in directly to Christian Aid 08080 006006
Zoom Meeting: To local Christian Aid supporters, those previously involved in door to door collections for instance, and also anyone who is interested in what Christian Aid is doing, there will a Zoom meeting hosted by Revd. Alec Harding on Wednesday 17th March ( St. Patrick’s Day) at 3.30 p.m.
Celebrating 75 years of real people creating real change
John's done it!
The Rev John Howard has walked the 268 miles of the Pennine Way, in a little under three weeks- and raised what is hoped will be something over £2,000 for the Methodist-based charity Action for Children.
"I walked the Pennine way in sections when I was in my late twenties but I have always wanted to walk it end to end," said John. "As I looked at what was and was not possible during this autumn, it seemed that this was something that I could do, it would raise money for Action for Children and fulfil an ambition at a time when many other activities were impossible."
Cash is still coming in so the final figure could be even larger. If you want to push John's total higher, you can donate to John's Just Giving page by clicking here.
